A Packed House for the Befriending Society
Wayfarers Chorus, supported by ‘Just Voices’ and ‘Voice Your Voice’, performed to a full house at the Formby Methodist Church on Wednesday 29 August.
The concert was part of a two week series of events, organised by the Formby Luncheon Club and Formby Befriending Society, arranged for people who would not otherwise have been able to have a holiday.
Wayfarers and Just Voices both performed two sets, with Wayfarers opening and closing the concert. The show was stolen however, by the junior choir of ‘Voice Your Voice’, who train at the Catherine Victoria Academy. The choir members range in age from 7 to 18 and sing with a great quality and enthusiasm. They have been chosen to audition at Disney World in Paris next year and we wish them the best of luck. It’s really good to see a new generation carrying on the tradition of singing.
The Southport Soup Kitchen was the charity chosen to benefit from moneys collected during the concert and a total of £200 was raised from the evening.
