A Birthday Bash

When you have been singing with the same chorus for 30 years, have just been awarded ‘Barbershopper of the Year’ and are about to celebrate your 97th birthday, it is only fitting that you have a bit of a bash!

To help Jim celebrate all of his accomplishments, the Wayfarers Chorus came together on Saturday 26 October. At least 25 chorus members attended, along with partners and friends, to make it a very noisy and happy occasion.

It wouldn’t be a Wayfarers Chorus get together if there were no music and this was no exception. The chorus sang a few of Jim’s favourites and were entertained by those who are sufficiently multi-talented to be able to play guitars and/or ukeleles. Members and their partners had clubbed together to lay on a buffet and soft drinks, singing being such hungry work.

Jim is a great ambassador for the chorus and proof that singing is not only great fun, but also an excellent ingredient for a long life. We wish him many more birthdays.
